Psychotherapy is frequently referred to as talk therapy. The intention is to explore behaviors and thoughts that are contributing to an unpleasant or upsetting emotional experience. Through our work together, we will create a comfortable space where you can explore the roots of emotional distress and how this distress impacts your life. We will also engage in somatic and/or embodiment work so that we can best identify how this distress manifests in your body. In addition to identifying and acknowledging, we will also explore what coping tools feel reasonable and accessible to you while also reducing the vulnerability for high experiences of distress in the future.

You may be asked to do some light reflective homework or reading in between sessions, in an effort to reinforce the insight gained in session and to expand self-awareness to support our therapeutic work. I remind clients that self-healing happens in and outside of the therapeutic space.

"Freeing yourself is one thing. Claiming ownership of your freed self is another."-

My Approach to Therapy

Acknowledging and honoring the various identities one can hold is an important aspect of my approach to therapy. I firmly believe that our intersecting identities can and do shape the way we perceive ourselves, the way we are impacted by the systems we are apart of, and the way we engage in community and relationships with others. It’s imperative to me that I strive to create a safe therapeutic space for anyone who seeks out my services. Feedback is valuable to me along the way, as I recognize that the client is the expert in their own lives and that our therapeutic work together is most effective when it is collaborative.

As a licensed therapist, I find fulfillment in supporting folks in exploring the barriers that prevent them from achieving and maintaining a level of personal freedom and contentment in life.

I offer an intersectional and inclusive, strengths-based, trauma informed, and person-centered approach to therapy. My approach to therapy is integrative and utilizes tools from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MB-CBT) along with other themes and considerations stemming from a variety of treatment modalities. I am also trained in EMDR and can provide this approach virtually through a variety of measures.

I aim to offer support in identifying the challenges and concerns that trigger emotional distress. During our work together, we will also explore efficient, effective, and accessible coping tools to best manage that distress.
